Where you look to find dance schools is not important. The kind of dance schools you end up looking at is not important. What is important once you have figured out which one is best for you, that you stick to it and give it all of your effort. Nothing is worse than a half-hearted performance in a dance routine, even if that performance is in school.

The world of dance classes is huge. Dance classes are huge. This is not to say that they are literally large and have hundreds of people bursting out of their seems as the walls of the classroom crumble and people are dodging and diving to avoid the falling wreckage below, no. It is to say that there are more dance schools, and types of dance schools than there are probably any other type of school; that exists.

Imagine that in every country there are various regions, and in each of these regions a typical type of dance has evolved. Dance schools represent these, and other types of dances, some that were indigenous to the country, others that were imported as a result of slavery, colonization, or migration, and many are a mix of aspects of some or all of these. Dance schools all over the world range from huge institutions to smaller community projects that are an attempt to preserve a style of dance handed down through generations. There are quite literally thousands of dance schools all over the world which all teach a different type of dance.
