The word is out on child modeling, and the verdict is, be well-rounded. Why? Because child modeling encompasses so many different products and industries that one must be prepared to model everything from toothpaste to hiking boots.

Sure, there is the glamorous JC Penny Catalogue, but the truly elite get to rock their child modeling skills in the Neiman Marcus for kids catatalog. While it is true that not all child modeling jobs are as glamorous as the next, this may be a good thing. Perhaps it is better that most child modeling jobs are for simple things like toys and sportswear. Let the youngsters worry about being glamorous when they get a bit old.

Of course, child modeling is not for everyone. Not all kids want to sit still for that long or have to listen to/follow a whole bunch of directions in order to give the photographer just the right shot. Child modeling can be fun, however, and many kids continue on after their child modeling careers to become well known professional models and/or actors when they grow up.
